Easter 2012

Emma and Eliza dressed up for Easter.  Eliza decided right before church that she hated her Easter dress, so  she picked another outfit (did I mention how much I love the pre-teen stage?)

After church we went to our friend Kris's house for a delicious lunch.

Then it was time for the Easter egg hunt.  Kris is so gracious and hides money eggs each year!

The kids loved searching for eggs.

Emma found some well hidden eggs.

Eliza was the big winner of the $20 egg!

Trip to DC!

Emma and I got to go to Virginia and stay with Jessica, Sterling and there darling boys!

Emma made a book for the boys.

We made lots of trip to Georgetown Cupcakes!

We saw the Hope Diamond.

We saw tons of cool animal and bone displays.  We loved the Egyptian mummies and the live butterfly exhibit.

We stood in line over an hour at the DC Market

The wait was worth the Pecan French Toast, crab cakes, fried green tomatoes and more!

Each day we'd check the free cupcake flavor of the day.

                                                         We visited Arlington Cemetery.

We almost got kicked out of the Lincoln Memorial by a guard who obviously hated kids!

The weather was perfect- here's the Washington monument.

Me and Jess in front of the WW2 monument.  Each gold star represents 100 people who lost their lives.

Emma risked her life sneaking a blade of grass from the White House lawn!

                                                                Jefferson Monument.

Emma with her sassy new cut and highlights!

We went to the National Zoo and the most crowded day and lost little Sterling (only for a couple minutes- but man he scared us!)

Thanks Jess for the great trip!  We had a blast!
