Parker's gone

On Sunday afternoon we drove two hours south and met up with the Roziers. Parker left with them to spend a few days playing with Alex. It's funny how when one member of the family is gone there is a whole new dynamic. We miss Parker but Porter loves having the room all to himself (although he won't sleep in it without Parker!) We know Parker is having fun and we'll see him on Thursday.

By the way, Parker's baseball team (the Mariners) won the entire Alameda Little League season and went on and won the Tournament of Champions play offs! Now that baseball is over our summer can really start!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! We surprised Jim with breakfast and some new shirts! We are so grateful for Jim. We went around the table and named some things we love about Jim, some of them were: He's really fun, very supportive, a hard worker, loves to be with his family, is musically talented, a good example, the best dad ever and a cool guy!

We are grateful for Jim's dad Paul. He has lots of the same great characteristics as Jim (guess that's where they came from!)
We're grateful for Jen' s dad Dave. He is lots of fun and a great example.

Happy Father's Day!

Great America!

Last August after we went to DisneyWorld, Make-A-Wish sent us a "passport for fun" which gives us free admission to several theme parks across the country for one year. Saturday we went to Great America and had a blast. Our passport saved us $335.94 in admission and $15 in parking!Emma, Porter and Eliza got their faces painted.
We did lots of big, scary rides and all the rides in "Kidsville" with Porter.

Eliza got injured on a ride with the lap restraint came up and bent her wrist backwards. The staff and EMT's were great and she was back having fun in no time.

The food was great and expensive, but since we didn't pay for admission we couldn't complain. Of course we had the highlight of theme park food: funnel cake!

We stayed all day and left tired, but happy with all our cheap stuffed animals, basketballs and great memories.

We have lots of other theme park adventures planned. Next up is Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Our fun weekend

Our first weekend of summer was a lot of fun. We went to the annual Park & Rec sandcastle and sculpture contest. This hippo was one of our favorites. This bird with nest and baby birds was amazing.
This is the head of a giant snake. I love the sandcastle contest and go every year.

Living in Alameda is so great and it just got better with the arrival of "Yogofina"- It's a self-serve frozen yogurt shop with 10 flavors of frozen yogurt!

Plus a great toppings bar. The yogurt is delicious and only 39 cents an ounce!

My favorite creation is tart vanilla, tart key-lime and mango with blueberries. Jim gets a little of everything!

Come visit us and we'll treat you to a yogurt!
