A little help here?

I heard Porter yelling, "A little help here!" and this is what I found: His sisters had had enough of him destroying their game so they tied him up. I's hard to be the youngest, but it's also hard having a little brother!
Now for me- all you with curley hair please give me some advice on hair products, or styling tips! Jess cut my hair and did a few highlights in DC, but it still needs help!

Bedroom makeover

It was time to move Porter out of his toddler bed and to do something about the constant mess of toys. We got rid of the toddler bed and brought in the dresser from the girls room for Porter's clothes .
Now when you look in the room you don't see this:

You see this:

Parker's bed had a trundle but he just kept toys in there. We got rid of most of the toys (yeah!) and put a matress in there for Porter to sleep on. Hopefully this will be the motivation Porter needs to sleep in his own bed, instead of coming into ours each night!

We also replaced the old rug with a new, large tan one. It looks so much better.

The girls got a new larger dresser so their clothes fit better and they have more room on top for their things. We found it at IKEA (Jessica and Laura have the same one!)

Happy Easter!

We had fun dying eggs. This year no one spilled the cups of dye! Porter really had fun.
Here are the finished eggs-

Saturday we had a big Easter egg hunt in the back yard. The older kids let Porter find most of them.

Look at all that candy!

Emma helped hide the eggs this year (maybe that's why she found so many?)

The kids in their outfits for church. Eliza played a duet with Jim of "Beautiful Savior" in sacrament meeting. Emma sang with the senior primary.

Our sweet girls!

We had our traditional Easter dinner: ham, nauvoo potatoes, salad and of course...

The bunny cake. Every year I swear I'm not going to make it again, but I do.

Hope you all had a great Easter!

Our trip to Virginia and DC

Parker and I had the best time on our vacation. It was fun to just spend time together- Jim and the rest of the kids had fun while we were gone.We got tickets to tour the State Capitol. The dome on top of the building weighs 9 million pounds!
Here's a close up of the Freedom Statue that's on top of the dome.

We saw the Hope Diamond at the Museum of Natural History. We also toured the American History Museum and the Holocaust Museum.

We went to a beautiful butterfly exhibit with hundreds of butterflies flying around us.

There was a great orchid exhibit.

At nights we would walk the monuments- they look beautiful all lit up. Here's Washington monument.

Everyday we got the BEST tart frozen yogurt at Mr. Yogato's. They gave a 10% discount if you let them stamp your forehead!

The WW2 memorial was really neat. They had 4,000 gold stars that represent the 400,000 soldiers that died in the war.

In between conference sessions we went to the National Cathedral. It was beautiful.

The Lincoln monument was my favorite monument.
Jessy made delicious griddle cakes for breakfast on Sunday! (It's a family tradition to eat them on Conference Sunday!)

We did lots of kissing and playing with cute little Sterling.

We celebrated big Sterling's birthday with legos and carrot cake.

Tuesday morning before we left we toured Mt. Vernon. This was probably my favorite tour we did. The home and grounds are amazing!

We had such a fun trip. Thanks Jessica and Sterling for being such good hosts!
